Privacy policy
Last updated 11 September 2026. Applies to gulfplan.org and to every project site operated by Gulf Network, each of which links here.
Who we are
Gulf Network is operated by a sole operator based in Portugal. We publish information sites about residential developments in the United Arab Emirates and pass enquiries to a licensed brokerage partner in the UAE. Contact for anything in this policy: ops@gulfplan.org.
What we collect
- Enquiry form: your name and phone number. An e-mail address and a preferred way to be contacted (call, WhatsApp or Telegram) are optional and asked only after the form is sent.
- Consent records: the exact consent text and its version, the time (UTC) and the IP address at the moment you ticked it — separately for "call me" and for marketing messages.
- Messenger hand-off: if you open WhatsApp or Telegram from a site, we record that a hand-off happened and a reference so the conversation can be matched to your enquiry. The message itself stays in the messenger.
- Visit data: a first-party cookie set by our server on the site's own domain that remembers where you came from (for example an advertising click identifier such as
gclidorfbclid) for 30 days; the page you landed on, the referring page, your browser type and the country derived from your IP address. - Advertising tags: the Meta Pixel and the Google Ads tag. In the EEA and the UK nothing loads until you answer the cookie notice (opt-in). Elsewhere the tags run and the notice lets you reject them — rejecting revokes the tags and deletes our own cookies (opt-out).
Why
- to pass your enquiry to the brokerage partner so they can contact you the way you asked — the legal basis is your consent;
- to keep proof of that consent, which UAE real-estate rules require before a broker may call you;
- to measure which advertising brought an enquiry, so that we buy less advertising that does not work — our legitimate interest, and for the tags themselves your consent.
Who receives it
- The brokerage partner — name, phone, e-mail if given, your preferred channel, the project you asked about and the consent record.
- Advertising platforms (Meta, Google) — when an enquiry came from their advertising, we report the conversion to them with your phone number or e-mail hashed (SHA-256) together with the click identifier, so the platform can attribute it. They do not receive your name or the content of your enquiry.
- Hosting — our servers are rented from Hetzner Online GmbH; messaging notifications to our own team go through Telegram.
We do not sell personal data and do not share it with anyone else.
How long
Enquiries and consent records are kept while the enquiry is being handled and for as long as we must be able to show that consent was given. Visit data without an enquiry is kept for 30 days. You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, withdraw a consent, or object to a use — by e-mail to ops@gulfplan.org. We answer within 30 days. If you are in the EU/EEA you may also complain to your data-protection authority; if you are in the UAE, to the relevant authority under the Personal Data Protection Law.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Consent records always keep the version of the text you actually saw.
