DAMAC as a developer: record and projects
DAMAC before you sign: private since 2022 with no audited accounts, the project company that holds your contract and escrow, and its own handover figures.

The company
Private since 2022: no audited accounts
As a private company DAMAC publishes no audited accounts, so none of its figures here have been through an auditor.
DAMAC Properties was founded in 2002 by Hussain Sajwani, and members of the founding family hold the managing director and board roles today. It traded on the Dubai Financial Market until 2022, when it delisted; that is reported by The National and we could not find the exchange's own notice, so it is carried as a report and not as a filing.
The consequence is visible in the figures. Where Aldar is listed and files audited accounts, DAMAC states the number of homes it has delivered on its own pages, and on one day in September 2026 its about page, its area guide and its blog gave three different totals. The figure used here is the newest dated release.
- 2002Founded as the development arm of the DAMAC group
Founder Hussain Sajwani; Ali and Amira Sajwani are managing directors and Abbas Sajwani sits on the board. The developer's own about page gives the year and nothing finer.
- 2022Delisted from the Dubai Financial Market; private since
Reported by The National on 7 March 2022. We found no primary notice from the exchange or the regulator, so the dates and the buy-out figures in that report are not treated as facts.
- September 2026Own release: homes handed over to date
over 50,000DAMAC delivered and over 55,000DAMAC in the pipeline, by DAMAC's own press release. Its other pages state the delivered figure two further ways on the same day; this is the newest dated one, and the one used.
- 2026Own release: handovers planned for the year
8,800DAMAC units, of which DAMAC Lagoons is named the largest component with about 6,300DAMAC homes.
- LandOver a hundred million square feet in planning and construction
DAMAC's own figure, in square feet, on its about page. We do not convert a figure the developer did not convert.
- —Delivery record: one total, no breakdown
No list of what was handed over, where and when exists in DAMAC's materials. There is an aggregate and no breakdown behind it, and the aggregate itself is stated three different ways across the company's own site.
Who signs
Each community is signed by its own company
DAMAC registers its communities to separate project companies, so the contract and the escrow account are with one of those, not with DAMAC Properties.
In the Land Department's register the clusters of DAMAC Lagoons stand under Island Oasis Properties, the first phase of DAMAC Islands under DAMAC Elite Investment, and its second phase under DAMAC Prime Development. The brand is one; the legal entities are several, and each registered project has its own escrow account.
The register also uses its own names for places. Lagoons is filed under Al Hebiah Fifth and Islands under Al Yelayiss 1, not under Dubailand. Ask us for the register entry and you get the entity, the project number and the escrow account, which is the part of a purchase that is checkable.

Communities
DAMAC Hills, Lagoons, Islands and more
By its own menu, DAMAC's communities are DAMAC Hills, DAMAC Hills 2, DAMAC Lagoons, DAMAC Islands, DAMAC Islands 2, DAMAC Riverside and DAMAC Sun City, with towers in Business Bay and the DIFC; a partial snapshot holds 17Land Department projects registered to its entities.
- Dubai
DAMAC's island-cluster villas and townhouses in Dubailand, launched in 2024: a starting price and a payment plan from the developer, handover not yet dated.
- Dubai
DAMAC's villas and townhouses in Dubailand, partly handed over and lived in: clusters from Mykonos to Santorini, prices paid per square metre, drive times.

Not published
A delivery total, but no project-by-project list
DAMAC does not publish which communities it handed over, when, or how many homes each.
What a buyer needs is a list: this community, handed over on this date, this many homes. DAMAC publishes an aggregate and no breakdown, so that list cannot be written from any document on record.
- Homes delivered, as a checkable number—
on one day in September 2026 its about page, area guide and two blogs gave three different totals; only the newest dated release is used here
- Delivery, project by project—
no DAMAC material lists community, handover date and unit count
- Share delivered on time—
DAMAC does not publish it, and it is not estimated here
- Audited accounts—
the company has been private since 2022 and publishes none; nothing here has been through an auditor
- The 2022 buy-out figures—
the price per share and the sum paid appear only in press coverage, and we could not find the exchange or regulator notice behind them
- Founding date—
only the year is published
- Completion percentages—
the Land Department register holds one for each project; they are used to assess the developer, not printed as a warning
